This system, aimed at safeguarding crops for sustainable agriculture, sets various targets including better use of resources for a drastic reduction in the use of phytosanitary products.
Furthermore, the use of renewable energy allows the farming business to not only generate energy using an innovative and sustainable approach, but to also significantly reduce pollution, protecting the health of the environment.
Agricola Dante contributes to the production of electricity from renewables through conversion of agricultural and animal-derived biomass into biogas. Our two 0.99 MW agro-energy systems are fully integrated into our agricultural and livestock processes. They are fed by agricultural biomass, primarily in the form of animal waste from our livestock and crops such as waxy corn, barley or other fine grain cereals cultivated on our land, allowing further value to be derived from agricultural products and animal waste for the production of clean energy within an agro-energy chain.
Our farming business is also equipped with a 0.47 MW photovoltaic installation on the roof of the buildings we use for stock and storage of agricultural vehicles.
Our soya and rice are ISO 22005 certified (food chain traceability, non-GMO).
Since 2006, the orchard has achieved the GLOBALG.A.P. individual certification and observes the strict guidelines of integrated production. Meanwhile, our tomato cultivation methodology has received this important certification through the O.P. Ferrara producers organisation, of which Agricola Dante is a member.
The orchard is certified by GLOBALG.A.P. Grasp. This is a protocol aimed at promoting social aspects of agricultural work.
Since 2016, Agricola Dante has applied the rules of the integrated production guidelines established by the Emilia-Romagna regional authority.
The excellent quality of our Carnaroli rice is certified with the IGP Riso del Delta del Po mark.
